Rooms are very small but also clean and efficient. Bed was comfortable. The balance between cost, comfort and location is excellent. The surrounding area is amazing with excellent food, coffee, bars and a stone's throw from balboa park. I can't speak much to the service because I didn't even interact with a human. That elevator is incredibly slow sometimes and be advised that the parking spaces are also pretty small. Large vehicles might have a difficult time parking in the hotel garage. Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone who wants to explore and visit the park and zoo

This place is amazing. Only fifteen minutes from LAX without having to traverse the dreaded 405. Extremely convenient and makes time-based trips to the airport doable. The best part? It is a beautiful property next to a wetland preserve. It makes for a unique "non-LAesque" ambiance to rival a national park. Unfortunately, it makes leaving just that much harder.

The best hotel for the price & location! It’s perfect for 2 people & the room is has all the essentials. It’s not huge but it is worth it. So many things to do & places to eat. I walked all the way to balboa park one morning it was closer than I thought. Nice views from the east side but be careful choosing the east freeway side if you are sensitive to noise because you won’t be able to have the window open while you sleep. Theres kitchen access to make food, small balcony & laundry. Staff is attentive & helpful & there is a security guard there all night. The front gate also closes for extra privacy. Parking is a little pricey, you can find parking around the city though but if not it is gated & safe. Also no deposit just the fee for the room which is nice. I love coming here & will be returning!!!

I recently stayed at this hotel with a friend, and we absolutely loved our experience! The room was beautiful, clean, and super comfortable, but the highlight for me was definitely the mirror — it was this really cool touch-screen style mirror that made the whole space feel modern and high-tech. We also loved the balcony, which was perfect for relaxing and enjoying the view. The hotel had great amenities too.The kitchen area was super convenient, and everything felt thoughtfully designed. Plus, for everything that was included, the price was surprisingly cheap — such a great value for what you get! One thing that really stood out was how safe we felt during our stay. There was security on standby, and their presence was reassuring without being intrusive. Overall, it was an amazing stay, stylish, comfortable, affordable, and safe. I’d definitely come back and would recommend it to anyone looking for a great hotel experience!

From the outside it looks dated, but the rooms are clean and modern. The base of the bed has a weird metal skirting which makes a crazy sound if you kick it with your foot my mistake, or lay on the bed too hard. Somehow a beggar got on my level too. But overall, great stay.

Shout out to Luke at the front desk! He was awesome, some of the best customer service I’ve ever had at a hotel. Blown away by the quality of the room for the price. Definitely will be staying here next time I’m in Hillcrest

The hotel is very clean and organized. The bathroom is really small , but updated. We were comfortable and loved the location, so close to the San Diego Zoo. Very good for the price. Highly recommend.

Nice and simple clean hotel. I got one of the rooms they labeled 'with freeway noise' and there definitely was if I opened the window - but they were upfront/transparent about it. No complaints really - this was a great hotel for my needs!

My mom and I shared a room here while on a road trip. It was perfect for us! We had a double queen, and even though we were facing the road side we didn't find the traffic sound too distracting (we did use our earplugs when sleeping). The beds were super comfortable and smelled fresh and clean! And the no-fog mirror was a fun touch :) The location is a bit tucked in there, every building is really close together but I suppose that's just San Diego for you. It was super close to San Diego Zoo / Museum, only a 6 minute drive! The street the hotel is on seems to be a nightlife hub, there were a lot of people out the night we were there. But on the 6th floor you couldn't hear anything. We got an assigned parking spot in a gated parking garage. We felt very safe and secure. We've already decided to stay here again for our next girl's trip! My only note is that the rooms are small. Not a problem for us as we were only 2 people, but if you had 4 people in the double queen it would definitely start to feel cramped. Oh and the early booking deals for this hotel are really amazing! Overall we had a very positive experience and I would recommend this location for any San Diego trip!

Reasonably priced hotel room in a great location. Staff was excellent and responsive. Walking distance to many, many amazing restaurants, and coffee shops. Convenient location to Balboa Park (we walked to it a couple of times or a quick public transit stop ). Hotel did not have a lot of amenities in the room BUT the rooms were modern and clean. There was a shared kitchen/coffee area which we did not use.
